A great kitchen starts with a great plan. Many homeowners in Allentown and Saucon Valley know they want a change but struggle to visualize the final result. That is where we come in.
At Penn Contractors, we don't just tear down walls; we help you imagine what could replace them. Our in-house design team works with you to solve layout frustrations, maximize storage, and curate a style that flows with the rest of your home. Because we are a Design-Build firm, we design with your budget in mind—ensuring the beautiful concept we create is one we can actually build.
"Count us among one of their many satisfied customers. They were honest about the price, scope of the work, and most importantly the time-frame (so rare)." —Marguerite D.
We Listen & Explore
We meet in your home to understand how you cook, entertain, and live. We aren't just measuring walls; we are identifying the pain points in your current layout to create a space that solves them.
We Visualize (3D Renderings)
Hard to imagine an open concept or a moved island? We create detailed floor plans and 3D renderings so you can virtually "walk through" your new kitchen and make changes before construction begins.
We Refine & Select
From custom cabinetry and quartz countertops to the perfect backsplash, we guide you through our showroom partners to select materials that fit your style and stay within your budget.

The length of time your kitchen remodel will take depends on the extent of the project. At Penn Contractors, we focus on major kitchen remodels. A major kitchen remodel could include changing the layout, removing a wall, installing an island, and replacing all of the finishes. The former will take less time than the latter.
Timing will also depend on the age of your home if any other repairs beneath the surface need to be addressed, and how many change orders are made. To get a better idea of how long your remodel may take, contact Penn Contractors, describe your remodeling goals, and the team will help you understand an appropriate timeline.
Kitchen cabinets are estimated to take up around 30% to 40% of a typical budget. This isn’t a hard rule, of course, but a good understanding of how much of your budget will go to this one aspect. Kitchen cabinets are a large portion of your kitchen, set the style tone, and should be high quality because of their frequent use and the weight they carry. The cost of labor, kitchen appliances, and countertops follow.
The standard amount you will spend on your kitchen remodel should be around 15% to 20% of your home’s total current value. Spending more may mean you are choosing materials that are out of sync with the quality of materials in the rest of your home and you won’t get a return on investment (ROI) that’s in keeping with the area standard.
Of course, there are circumstances where spending more than 15% is warranted, such as replacing compromised subflooring, replacing the wiring in an older home, or removing load-bearing walls to create an open concept.
The difference is in the details...
Workflow Optimization: We apply the "Work Triangle" rule to ensure your sink, stove, and fridge are positioned for effortless cooking.
Smart Storage: Designing hidden spice racks, appliance garages, and deep drawers that reduce clutter.
Lighting Design: Layering task lighting, ambient lighting, and statement fixtures to set the mood.
Budget Accuracy: Designing with real construction costs in mind prevents "sticker shock" later.
